SimplicityHub now has more than a hundred free templates and over fifty browser-based calculators. That is great news if you already know exactly which tool you need — and completely overwhelming if you don’t. This month we shipped two free features that solve that problem in opposite directions: one points you straight at the right resource for a specific question, and the other builds an entire improvement project around you.
A Hundred Free Tools, One Real Problem
The most common piece of feedback we get is some version of “I don’t know where to start.” A learner facing a late-dispatch problem doesn’t need 106 templates — they need to know whether to start with a Fishbone Diagram or a Pareto Chart. Choice is only a benefit when it’s organised.
So we built two things, sitting side by side at the top of the templates and calculators pages: an AI Tool Finder for the quick question, and a Project Copilot for the bigger journey.
The AI Tool Finder
Describe the problem you’re trying to solve in plain English — no Lean Six Sigma jargon required — and the finder points you straight to the exact free templates and calculators that help, plus the course that covers them in depth.
Try a real example: type “I want to know if my process is stable” and the finder surfaces the Control Limits Calculator and the Standard Deviation Calculator instead of leaving you scrolling through fifty tools guessing. Ask about waste in a process and it will point you at value stream mapping; ask about frequent defects and it brings up the DPMO Calculator.
It sits above everything else on both pages, so it’s the first thing you see — and every recommendation is a real, working page on the site.
The Guided Project Copilot
Next to the finder is the “Start my guided project” button. Click it and the Project Copilot asks five focused questions: your problem, your goal, the process involved, where you’ll start, and what evidence you already have.
From those five answers it works out which DMAIC stage you’re really at, recommends a primary template or calculator to start with, and lays out the full resource journey — every template and calculator you’ll want, in the right order, from Define through to Control.
There’s no account and no third-party AI involved: it’s a deterministic set of rules built into the page itself, and your answers are sent only to simplicityhub.co.uk so we can keep improving the coach. You can download the whole plan as a document with clickable links, or come back and edit your answers at any time.
